Food Safety Manager, NC Food Innovation Lab
Robert Price is the Food Safety Manager at NCFIL. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food safety and compliance for NCFIL as well as improving the food safety culture among all employees. Robert is an NC State University alumnus, earning his BS and MS degrees in Food Science, focusing on food microbiology and food safety.
During his undergraduate career and following his Master's degree, Robert worked for USDA-ARS Food Science Research Unit at NC State working as a biological science technician and laboratory manager. His research primarily focused on food safety and microbiology in acidified and fermented foods which led to authorship on multiple published manuscripts in peer reviewed journals. Just prior to joining NCFIL, Robert spent two years with Dole Fresh Vegetable as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist on the Supply Chain side of the business. In this role, he performed supplier audits and completed approvals of growers, evaluated suppliers and trained them on current food safety standards and requirements, and ensuring compliance with applicable elements of FSMA.
Robert enjoys working with NCFIL staff and clients to help with all their food safety needs throughout the production process; from the supply side to the finished product.
